Iveco Astra presented at the Case Construction stand (SaMoTer 2017) with an imposing vehicle from the HD9 range, as a representative of the mines and quarries sector, which has been exhibited alongside a wheel loader.
The vehicle has been presented in its 8x4 Heavy Duty 500HP configuration with a Gross Vehicle Weight of up to 60 tonnes, complete with a 24 m3 tipping body and ROPS/FOPS certified cab protection.
The technical solutions employed on this model have helped to render the vehicle more robust, reliable and durable, with considerable positive effects on productivity at the work site. In addition to the robust and high-strength (530 Mpa) steel chassis comprised of two flat and parallel side members (320 x 90 x 10 mm + 6mm), the vehicle also features a reinforced tandem solution at the back with a capacity of up to 40 tonnes for particularly heavy-duty off road applications. The power train is designed to take on even the most challenging and heavy duty work activities: the HD9 range vehicles are equipped with Iveco Cursor 13 Euro VI engines with motorizations of up to 560 HP and maximum torque values of up to 2500 Nm, with either mechanical or 16-speed automatic transmissions (upon request), with or without Intarder. The cab interior has recently been redesigned to ensure excellent ergonomics and comfort, for a relaxing driving experience, while at the same time guaranteeing exceptional functionality, in order to allow the operator to face even the most difficult and challenging off-road missions with absolute confidence.
Ultra-strong vehicles, ideal for extreme conditions and work environments. Easy to configure, repair and service throughout its entire life cycle. Strength, versatility, mobility, specificity and load capacity are the essential features of Iveco Astra’s HD9 vehicles, which are designed for heavy duty work in the mining, oil, major construction, and heavy transport sectors.
