Autovictor takes delivery of second Tadano AC 5.130-1 all terrain crane and CC 38.650-1 lattice boom crawler crane along with another AC 4.080-1.
Nothing is more exciting than anticipation – which is why Operations Manager Alessandro Gino from the Italian crane rental company Autovictor made absolutely sure to get a look at his new Tadano AC 5.130-1 during a visit to Zweibrücken before finally taking the crane home.
Italian Tadano Managing Director Davide Camperi and Regional Sales Manager Alvaro Morales were on site for the “pre-handover” – something that should come as no surprise, as Autovictor has been an important customer for around 25 years and has maintained an excellent business relationship with Tadano at all times.
The crane will be the second AC 5.130-1 in Autovictor’s fleet: “We ordered the first back in 2021 and are extremely happy with it – together with its long main boom and outstanding lifting capacity, the crane’s compact dimensions make it an incredibly versatile machine. And since work sites in Italy are not particularly spacious, this makes it the crane of choice for our needs – especially when combined with the Flex Base system, which allows us to extend the unit’s outriggers to any point within range where we need them,” reports Alessandro Gino, who ordered the AC 5.130-1 with a swing-away jib and a second winch.
With this equipment, the crane is perfectly prepared for use as an all-rounder that will be taking care of a broad variety of jobs at industrial facilities and installing precast concrete components – the primary mission that Autovictor has in mind for the new AC 5.130-1.
When visiting Zweibrücken for the AC 5.130-1, Alessandro Gino was visibly impressed not only by the warm hospitality characteristic of Tadano, but also by the company’s state-of-the-art plant and the comprehensive know-how of the people he interacted with. “This experience not only reaffirmed his trust in the quality of Tadano products and service, but also sped up our negotiations regarding the purchase of a CC 36.650-1, which started right after the AC 5.130-1 was handed over,” reports Tadano Italy Business Leader Davide Camperi, who was in charge of the negotiations and was able to notify Zweibrücken of the resulting oral agreement a mere month later. After that, things fell into place right away: The next month, the purchase agreement was signed, and a month after that, Tadano delivered the CC 38.650-1, painted with the customer’s company colors. “That really was an incredible accomplishment on behalf of our team in Zweibrücken,” Davide Camperi says, full of praise for his German fellow team members.
With the CC 38.650-1, Autovictor has acquired one of the most powerful lattice boom crawler cranes of its class, with this particular model known for combining power, cost-effectiveness, and safety for a wide variety of lifting applications. A 171-meter main boom, a lifting capacity of 650 tonnes at a radius of 12 meters, and a maximum load moment of 8,448 meter tonnes enable the CC 38.650-1 to deliver more than enough power to perform the heavy lifts required by Autovictor. In addition, its Superlift Split Tray with quick couplings makes it easy to uncouple counterweight that is no longer need once the main boom has been erected. This makes assembly faster, reducing the amount of personnel needed and eliminating the need for an assist crane. On top of all this, the CC 38.650-1 also raises the bar when it comes to safety, with its ESTA-award-winning fall protection system ensuring that technicians are always on the safe side when assembling and disassembling the crane.
The handover of the CC 38.650-1, perfectly coordinated with the new Tadano AC 4.080-1, took place directly at Autovictor’s company site. The Italians had ordered the AC 4.080-1 almost simultaneously with the AC 5.130-1. This is the second AC 4.080-1 that Autovictor has put into operation - their preference for Tadano is clearly undeniable
