The Grove GMK5250XL-1 is the latest model in the company’s rental fleet, which includes 14 Grove models.

A Grove GMK5250XL-1 is the latest delivery for long-time Italian Grove customer Baldini Group. The crane is working in the company’s rental fleet on various tasks including tower crane assembly, HVAC system installations, industrial and construction work, and boat handling. The GMK5250XL-1 is one of the highest-capacity cranes among the 14 Grove all-terrain cranes in the Baldini Group fleet.

We like to have versatile cranes in our fleet, and with the GMK5250XL-1 we get a compact crane, with a long boom, strong carrier, and great load charts. The operators love it because it has a really comfortable cab and is easy and intuitively set up. We can configure it in multiple set-ups and it’s perfect for a wide variety of projects,” said Andrea Baldini, co-owner of Baldini Group.

The 250 t capacity Grove GMK5250XL-1 has a 78.5 m main boom length and an outrigger footprint of just 7.8 m width. Baldini purchased the crane with an 18 m bi-fold swingaway jib that can be extended to 34 m with inserts for even greater reach. Maneuverability and set-up are simpler thanks to Grove’s MEGATRAK independent suspension plus the optional MAXbase variable outrigger positioning system. In addition to the GMK5250XL-1, Baldini Group runs a mix of Grove all-terrain cranes, including models from three-axles up to six-axle models. The company covers north and central Italy from its branches in Faenza, Forlì, Ravenna, Bologna, and Fano.

Roberto Zucchi, area sales manager for mobile cranes at Manitowoc in Italy, said: “Congratulations to Andrea, Barbara, and the whole team at Baldini Group on this latest purchase. We’re proud to support the ongoing growth and success of the company. Our relationship goes back to 2005, and the company has been a loyal customer ever since. Baldini Group was among the first customers in Italy for some of our most successful models of recent times, such as the GMK6300L, GMK4100, and GMK5130. Our service engineer Mario Marenco has a close relationship with the company and ensures consistent, maximum uptime for the cranes. We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Baldini Group.”
