Once again, this year France was home to the biggest motorcycle beach race in the world - Enduropale du Touquet Pas-de-Calais.

Since it was first held on the north coast of France in 1975, the Enduropale du Touquet Pas-de-Calais has been a legend in the world of motorsport, not just as one of the biggest races but also the most demanding on man and machine. Professional and amateur enthusiasts, both young and old, pit their skills against each other, with some 2,700 French and international race participants competing over a thirteen-kilometre route. The race spans across wide stretches of beach, undulating dunes and narrow tracks, presenting an immense sporting challenge that requires skill, endurance and courage.

To meet the challenge of creating and maintaining the race track, BOULARD TP had powerful reasons for choosing the PR 716 Crawler Dozer. The PR 716 heads up a fleet of equipment that swings into action to transform the beach at Le Touquet into a track for quads and motorcycles over a time span of three weeks. The extreme versatility of the PR 716 makes it suitable for operation under almost all prevailing weather and soil conditions. The combination of solidly built design and powerful drive, delivers outstanding pushing performance and stable operation, regardless of the conditions. The wide tracks ensure optimum weight distribution while minimising ground pressure, which gives specific advantages on soft or uneven terrain such as the motorcycle beach track. It is during such operations, that the hydrostatic drive of the Crawler Dozer really excels: even when turning on the spot, all steering movements are quick and effortless. This gives the PR 716 its exceptional manoeuvrability, and pushing power you can bank on for any construction site.

To maintain high productivity despite ever-increasing pressures on time and cost, construction equipment must meet the highest demands on speed and precision. Automatic machine controls and Operator Assistance Systems are increasingly being used to raise the productivity of man and machine even higher.

Generation 8 Crawler Dozers have three levels of Assistance Systems: Free Grade for active blade stabilisation during fine grading, Definition Grade for automatic blade positioning when creating 2D surfaces, and 3D Grade for complex terrain modelling. When creating race tracks, Definition Grade significantly simplifies the process, saving time and resources. Further advantages include the intuitive operation of the assistance systems and the high quality of the grading work, which cannot be beaten.
