Controls Group looks back on 50 years of success in the civil engineering industry

This year, Controls Group celebrates its golden anniversary as leading manufacturer for the Construction industry and is marking this milestone, celebrating with employees, distributors, suppliers and customers all over the world

This year, Controls Group celebrates its golden anniversary as leading manufacturer for the Construction industry and is marking this milestone, celebrating with employees, distributors, suppliers and customers all over the world. 

Controls was founded in October 1968 by Umberto Granelli who is still operative today. What started as a business pioneering the development of compression machines has developed, fifty years later, into a global leader in testing equipment for the Construction Industry.

Commenting on this milestone, Pasquale Di Iorio, Controls Group’s President & shareholder and CEO from 1996 to 2017 said, “We want to mark this 50th Anniversary year by celebrating our achievements with all our stakeholders, all of whom we value extremely highly and are very proud of. At the heart of our group is a unique and distinctive style that we call 'Controls Way'…it is based on strong business ethics and respectful personal relationships where all actors play an important part. We owe our success to the contribution of all who have placed their trust in us and in particular we would like to thank all our customers for their loyalty and continued support.“

Controls Group made many changes and evolutions but, importantly, never lost its identity which is a key success factor. Always moving forward, the group integrated Wykeham Farrance (2004) and IPC Global (2014), two global leaders in the advanced fields of geomechanics and asphalt pavements testing systems resulting in the development of many market-leading, high-performing products, adeptly tuned to customers’ testing requirements.

To write the next chapter of our story, the Group will continue to transform, innovate and embrace challenges with that same desire and determination shown by all those who have made Controls Group what it is today.
