Genie begins delivery of Big Booms to Hire Safe Solutions

The UK rental company is adding Genie's quality high-reaching telescopic and articulating boom lifts to meet the needs of its customers in a strong construction environment.

Hire Safe Solutions, a leading provider of mechanical powered access solutions for work at height in the UK, has begun taking delivery of the high-reaching Genie super booms it is adding to its fleet. The current order, which includes 10 SX-135 XC (Xtra Capacity), one SX-150, two SX-180 telescopic boom lifts as well as 10 ZX-135 articulating boom lifts, will help Hire Safe Solutions meet the needs of a strong, robust construction sector across a range of jobsites and industries.

From infrastructure projects to power plants, and work in city centers and other compact spaces, demand is high for safe, reliable, productive equipment for work at height, says Gerard Jennings, founder and CEO of Hire Safe Solutions.

“This year is Hire Safe Solution’s 10th year in business. Our customers trust us to deliver products and services on time, and we will not commit to anything we cannot do,” Jennings says. “Our fleet, which has more than 1,200 machines, already includes more super booms than any other hire company in the UK. These new booms will ensure we can continue to meet our customers’ needs for quality equipment in the honest, reliable manner we are known for.”

The SX-135 XC boasts an industry-leading capacity of 300 kg (660 lb) unrestricted / 454 kg (1,000lb) restricted. This ability to lift heavy loads, combined with a max working height of 43.15 m (141 ft) and an industry-leading max outreach of 27.43 m (90 ft), makes the SX-135 XC ideal for even the most challenging applications. Jennings recalls seeing the SX-135 XC for the first time at Vertikal Days in Silverstone in 2017; he bought three of them that day because of their outreach and up-and-over capabilities, making Hire Safe Solutions one of the first companies in Europe to purchase the machine and offer it to the UK market.

The performance and reliability of the SX-135 XC has lived up to Jennings’ expectations, and the machine’s safe workload, horizontal outreach and exceptional working envelope are a few of the reasons Jennings continues to add more of this Xtra Capacity lift to Hire Safe Solutions’ fleet. Regarding the ZX-135 articulating boom Jennings chose this model for its uniqueness when it comes to height and configuration, noting that the ZX-135 is the only articulating boom with an extending jib up to 6.1 m (20 ft), in addition to a good horizontal reach. It is, he noted, perfect for compact spaces like city centres.

The acquisition of the SX-150 and the SX-180 telescopic boom lifts with their outstanding working diagram envelopes and unrestricted lift capacity of 340 kg (750 lb) will complete his fleet of super booms with working heights up to 56.86m (186 ft). In addition to the outstanding specs and features of the SX-135 XC and ZX-135, Jennings added that he chose Genie booms specifically due to Genie’s quality, reliability and strong residual value.
