Genie’s New Monterrey Manufacturing Facility Earns LEED Gold

The prestigious certification, awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council, is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and an international symbol of excellence.

Genie announced today that its newest manufacturing facility in Monterrey, Mexico, has earned the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and an international symbol of excellence.

Through design, construction and operations practices that improve environmental and human health, LEED-certified buildings are helping to make the world more sustainable. Green buildings also allow companies to operate more sustainably and give the people inside them a healthier, more comfortable space to work.

The Terex Genie Mexico facility achieved LEED certification for implementing practical and measurable strategies and solutions in areas that included, but were not limited to, reducing indoor and outdoor water usage, optimizing energy performance and renewable energy production — all identified as regional priorities.
