New Eurocargo introduces new technology and natural gas across the range making it ‘the right fit for every mission’

The new Eurocargo delivers the most advanced iteration of the historic range to date. The redesigned digital cockpit, new ADAS, digital services enabled by advanced connectivity, and even more sustainability offered by an expanded CNG range, makes Eurocargo the truck drivers want to drive. A truly powerful asset for all operators.

IVECO is an industry leader in alternative fuels with its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) offering an excellent solution to dramatically reduce emissions while retaining mission capability and low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). When they run on biomethane, CNG vehicles can yield a reduction in CO2 of up to 95% compared to an equivalent diesel vehicle. The new Eurocargo receives an all-new generation of Tector 7 CNG engines available across the range, becoming the only 12-19t vehicle to offer natural gas across the full range to operators looking to reduce emissions. The new 6.7-litre CNG engine is available in three versions: 220hp, 250hp and 280hp. In addition to higher engine capacity and horsepower, this truck also provides best-in-class fuel consumption as well as improved CO2 emissions of up to -10% vs Tector 7 Diesel CNG mission capability has also been improved with the introduction of a 115-litre tank option delivering an extended driving range without penalising cargo volume with up to 1.100L gas cylinder capacity. The new Eurocargo truly helps drive the road of change by enabling more customers than ever to transition to viable alternative fuels without compromising mission capability.

A new standard transmission is available on both diesel and CNG models for even greater efficiency. The 8- speed automatic ZF8-HP is set to become the default choice, providing a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 5%, while an optional Allison 3000 automatic transmission is also available.

Dashboard updates are designed to facilitate the driver’s life on board, adding convenience and more capabilities. A new fully digital cluster with a 10-inch display takes centre stage in the cab featuring rich graphics that provides excellent visibility for vehicle information at a glance. This display can be configured to the driver’s preferences to help reduce distractions and improve usability. New steering column controls keep everything at the driver’s fingertips. Another technological addition to the cab is a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which enables drivers to bring their digital life on board as well as access navigation. A DAB radio and rear-view camera are also available. Occupants can take full advantage of two USB ports for charging smart devices while plugging in an iOS or Android smartphone enables Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, giving access to familiar apps drivers use on a daily basis. Every mission starts with the key, and this new model comes with a new electronic key featuring a modern yet rugged design that complements the vehicle’s mission focus.

Every Eurocargo now comes with a standard Connectivity Box, making this the most connected Eurocargo ever. Operators will have access to IVECO’s digital services, including truck monitoring and remote diagnostics to help reduce downtime, as well as fleet management tools via the IVECO ON Customer Portal. Also new to Eurocargo is IVECO Driver Pal, the pioneering onboard voice-activated travel companion built on Amazon Web Services (AWS) technology and Alexa features. Designed to maximise vehicle uptime through route planning and vehicle status monitoring, it reduces delays and unexpected downtime. Eurocargo drivers will be able to interact with the vehicle through voice commands, helping them to remain focused on the road, consequently improving safety.

The new Easy Cargo App is a single touchpoint that gives drivers even more control over their vehicle. The app provides access to the Driving Style Evaluation, which can help them improve their driving habits with suggestions about safe driving, fuel efficiency, and vehicle health. The Easy Cargo app also connects the driver directly to the Remote Assistance Services and Over the Air Updates of the vehicle’s software and can be used to operate cabin functions such as air conditioning, additional cab heater lighting and doors, enhancing the driver’s comfort. Customers can take advantage of a new predictive maintenance feature based on the data generated by Eurocargo. It enables the operator to optimise Maintenance & Repair operations to suit their mission, minimising interruptions and increasing convenience.

The new Eurocargo meets all of the new GSR (Global Safety Regulations) with a new electronic architecture developed to run a host of new systems. These include Alcohol Interlock Preparation, Intelligent Speed Assist, Moving Off Info System, Blind Spot Info System, Reversing Detection, Emergency Stop Signal, Lane Departure Warning System.

The new Eurocargo is ready for any mission thanks to its highly versatile configurations. Ranging from 7.5-19 tonnes, the vehicle’s tough chassis is ideal for urban or regional deliveries, construction, municipality missions and even off-road with the Eurocargo 4x4. A best-in-class 11m turning circle makes the Eurocargo easy to manoeuvre in urban spaces and the perfect partner for deliveries in populated areas. A range of wheelbases from 2,790mm up to 6,570mm featuring a rugged parallel straight frame caters for demanding applications as well as the installation of specialist bodies and equipment, making Eurocargo one of the most flexible vehicles in its class. In fact, there are over 11,000 combinations of Eurocargo, so that customers can specify the perfect vehicle for their mission, no matter how specialised.
