InterBuildExpo, which takes place in Kiev, Ukraine, is one of the most premiere construction trade shows in Eastern Europe. The 2017 edition of the show occurred from March 29th through April 2nd, and like past years, it provided an excellent chance for companies in the region to learn about the latest advancements in crane technology.

Hoisting Machinery, a longtime Potain dealer in the country, took the opportunity to promote the entire Potain tower crane range, highlighting both a variety of top-slewing and self-erecting models. The company is well versed in the Potain lineup, as it owns approximately 50 Potain tower cranes in its rental fleet. It was also one of the lifting companies that provided technical support to the erection, dismantling and servicing of the Potain cranes at the extensive, 10-year Chernobyl shelter project.

“We’re seeing a lot of interest in self-erecting cranes in Ukraine,” said Jean-Claude Doucène, Manitowoc’s general director for CIS countries. “There aren’t many companies offering this type of crane in Eastern Europe, but customers are quickly beginning to learn about their benefits, including easy transport, rapid erection and flexible configuration options. The new Potain Hup models have been especially interesting for rental companies here, as they are the most versatile self-erecting cranes on the market.”
