Two Sennebogen 835 Specials material handlers have recently delivered by E H Hassell & Sons, the Sennebogen UK dealer, as part of S Norton & Co’s £10 million overall investment program at their Barking Site

Two Sennebogen material handlers have recently delivered by E H Hassell & Sons, the Sennebogen UK dealer, as part of S Norton & Co’s £10 million overall investment program at their Barking Site.

S Norton’s Site Manager for Barking, Michael Duke explained; “There have been Sennebogen material handlers (835 Specials) on this site for over 12 years, and they have served us very well. In our industry its heavy work, and as the machines were getting up to 20,000 hours, we knew we had to bring in replacement machines. In addition as part of our overall development program, we needed to go for larger machines, allowing us to increase throughput, by loading vessels much quicker. We looked at all the products on the market, then arranged factory visits with several different suppliers to view machines of the size we were looking at”.

Matt Norton, Technical Director, continued, “The machines were placed on order then, prior to delivery, meetings took place at Barking to finalise the detailed specifications. We visited Sennebogen during the build process to inspect and test the machines before they were stripped down for shipping to UK. The trucks arrived on the Monday, the machines were put together and handed over on Thursday evening the same week, it all ran like clockwork. We are very pleased with the performance of the machines and the back up from both E H Hassell & Sons and Sennebogen”.

These Sennebogen 870’s are fitted with 24 m reach, mobile undercarriage, larger outrigger pads, 2 meter pylon, energy recovery system, 3 cubic – 5 tyne grab, full Prolec system and hook“.
