Trimble to Showcase Connected Construction at bauma 2019
Trimble will present Connected Construction solutions in hall A2 stand no. 437. The civil engineering and construction industry faces increasing challenges when constructing road, rail, port, airport, pipeline, power and other key infrastructure. These projects are expensive and critical assets that require a large investment in both time and money. Construction sites are complex, and projects generate large amounts of data, much of which is not captured and retained, or even measured and processed. The future of civil construction requires using modern, integrated systems to leverage the vast amount of data generated by projects to achieve major improvements to efficiency.
Trimble is on a continuous quest to increase efficiency to drive the future of digital construction and transform the industry to maximize productivity and return on investment. We offer digital solutions to optimize concept, design, scheduling and project management, and rugged, field-proven hardware to execute the project. Together, these solutions constitute an ecosystem that facilitates and optimizes processes in all phases of a project.
3D Constructible Models
The 3D constructible model is the core to the Trimble Connected Construction ecosystem. The data-rich model is designed, detailed, enriched and shared by all project members providing collaborative advantages throughout the entire lifecycle. The cloud-based BIM model provides readily available, manageable and reusable data to stakeholders, shared and updated in real-time.
Trimble's central BIM solution is key in this process, improving efficiency and productivity, while minimizing errors, rework and cost at every stage of the design. The solution is ready for BIM Level 3 – the most advanced state to date – ensuring competitive advantages long into the future.
Trimble’s comprehensive portfolio of professional solutions can improve efficiency through the use of proven model-based design and construction, providing constructible model confidence for all stakeholders. With a focus on facilitating the continuous flow of BIM between the office and the field, and a forward-thinking portfolio of solutions and services, Trimble empowers the industry to plan, design and construct with digital confidence – giving owners, engineers and contractors more control over their investment.
Construct Efficiently
New for bauma 2019, Trimble will demonstrate the next generation of Trimble Connected Site solutions. Easy-to-use software, rich, real-time information in the field, in the office and throughout the project, as well as remote support, design versioning and geo-location information enable contractors to embrace and benefit from the digital construction revolution. Modern hardware and field software complete the portfolio with connected solutions that bring the office and field together like never before.
Trimble will also demonstrate emerging technology including machine automation, SiteVision augmented reality, site monitoring and machine learning. We will be showing products and solutions that are currently in development, but have not yet been released, in order to engage customers and incorporate their feedback into the final product.
Five new construction technology solutions were introduced at Trimble Dimensions and these will also be showcased at bauma 2019.
1. New Version of Trimble Earthworks Grade Control Platform Includes Support for Motor Graders and Automatic Guidance for Tiltrotators
Trimble Earthworks Grade Control Platform version 1.7 features support for motor graders and automatic guidance for tiltrotator attachments. Trimble Earthworks for Motor Graders is a GNSS-based, 3D grade control solution designed to make fine grading more accurate, faster and easier than ever before. In addition, Trimble Earthworks now gives excavator operators using tiltrotators the advantage of automatic machine control, which can result in increased productivity.
2. New Trimble Earthworks GO! Grade Control Platform for Compact Machine Grading Attachments. Trimble Earthworks GO! Grade Control Platform, a 2D grade control solution for compact machine grading attachments, was introduced at Dimensions 2018. Trimble Earthworks GO! enables high-accuracy grading in an easy-to-use, portable platform. It is the only Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) compact machine control solution available today that runs on Android or iOS smartphones. Trimble Earthworks GO! can be used by contractors involved in general construction, site preparation and utility work for grading flat and simple slopes. The system leverages laser technology to provide dynamic, real-time position information that allows the operator to grade or cut profiles quickly and accurately. The platform requires little training time and can increase an operator's productivity up to 20 percent.
3. Trimble Expands its Portfolio of GNSS Smart Antennas for Civil Construction and adds Dynamic Tilt Functionality. The new SPS785 GNSS Smart Antenna is a fully capable GNSS receiver, now offered at a lower price point for a faster return on investment. The SPS785 has full satellite coverage with the combination of GPS and all GNSS constellations. For added protection, the SPS785's radio antenna fits inside the range pole. The lightweight and compact design enables contractors to work longer with less fatigue. The SPS986 is specifically designed for rugged jobsite measurement applications, and is now available with a dynamic tilt upgrade. The dynamic tilt feature allows for faster data collection to enable construction surveyors to create larger digital terrain models faster and with improved accuracy. It is designed to capture higher accuracy measurements on steeper slopes from a moving vehicle and more accurate volume measurements to save time and money on material planning.
4. Trimble Announces Machine Control and Payload Management on One Platform. The Trimble LOADRITE Payload Management for Trimble Earthworks Grade Control Platform for Excavators integration will help increase productivity and efficiency for excavator operations. This integration allows contractors to track bucket-by-bucket payload and monitor mass haul progress from the same Trimble Earthworks display. The versatile system can be installed on any hydraulic excavator that has Trimble Earthworks, and offers an easy transition between grade control and payload management, maximizing the contractor/s investment. "With the introduction, Trimble will have the only aftermarket, mixed fleet solution that integrates grade control with payload management," said Scott Crozier, general manager for Trimble's Civil Engineering and Construction Division. "This technology makes the Trimble Earthworks platform extensible to more applications, and more flexible than ever before."
5. Trimble Unifies Business Center Software to Provide a Single Version for Survey and Civil Construction
Version 5.0 of Trimble® Business Center merges two products, Trimble Business Center and Business Center - HCE, to provide both surveying and civil construction customers with a complete office software solution. Combining both products into one platform provides a larger set of tools for customers to leverage for more services and value for their clients
