Tadano and Demag brands are so well represented in the INCANA fleet.

Crane and transportation service provider Société Réunionnaise de Transports INCANA (S.R.T.I.) in Réunion has a new Demag AC 500-8, and the crane has a very special position in the company’s fleet, which features about 20 cranes: It’s the largest crane not only in the INCANA fleet, but on the entire island as well. This was one of the reasons why INCANA Crane Department Manager Idriss Incana, son of owner Thierry Incana, was not about to miss out on the chance to get a personal look at the crane in Zweibrücken with two of his co-workers before it was shipped: “And to tell you the truth, the extremely friendly reception we got by the Demag team there was at least as impressive as the AC 500-8 itself,” he reports.

The business relationship between INCANA and Tadano was already very friendly before then: “I’ve known Thierry Incana for about 20 years now and really value his amiable way of interacting with people and doing things. And I know that the decision to purchase the AC 500-8 was not only a business decision stemming from the well-planned growth of INCANA, but also a result of the fact that we’ve worked together in person within the context of a relationship marked by complete trust,” points out Tadano and Demag France Business Leader Jean-Marie Grossmann. And this is one of the reasons why the Tadano and Demag brands are so well represented in the INCANA fleet – in fact, the company put a new Tadano ATF 60G-3 and an ATF 70G-4 into operation at the end of 2019.

When ordering the AC 500-8, INCANA included pretty much everything from the list of accessories, and made sure that the eight-axle unit came with the maximum level of equipment available, including a luffing jib, Superlift system, and the innovative IC-1 Plus control system. In other words, the crane is well prepared for any job that may come its way. And this is important, as INCANA needs the powerful AC 500-8 for a large number of demanding projects that include erecting wind turbines, building large infrastructure projects, lifting distillation columns at sugar mills, and work on the biggest roadbuilding project in Réunion right now: The La nouvelle route du littoral coast highway, which goes over dikes and viaducts along most of its length. It is worth mentioning that the Demag AC 500-8 has already passed its first test with flying colors, as it got to show its enormous lifting capacity in a solid performance lifting a large bridge over a river.
